HONORING THE LEGACY OF TONI MORRISON
Join us in celebration and tribute to Toni Morrison, an icon of American literature whose power of language has inspired generations of readers. The month-long celebration includes two panel discussions about Morrison’s impact and a three-night marathon reading. An all-star cast of critically-acclaimed authors give voice to Song of Solomon, Morrison’s extraordinary interrogation of violence in its many forms, the systemic oppression that perpetuates it, and the search for redemption.
Literacy Partners is an adult literacy program. African American and immigrant parents come to our program to transform their lives and create a brighter future for their family through the power of literacy. Access to stories and the ability to tell one’s own are essential to heal from trauma – individual and collective. Adult literacy has always been a tool for liberation and a means of organizing to end systemic oppression.
“Writers for Readers” is our digital series that brings people together at the intersection of racial equity, social justice and literacy. We present this public reading in solidarity with Black families everywhere. Register for free or donate to advance racial equity and social justice through the power of literacy.

This event has now concluded. The videos will be available here until end of March, 2023. Scroll down to watch or donate to advance racial and social justice through adult literacy education.
